Robert The Doll Safe
After
Tropical Storm Fay Hit Key West

The Fort East Martello Museum was shuttered tightly to survive the rain and wind gusts and Robert was safe inside the fort and is ready to greet visiters again. Robert was very grateful to our steadfast museum staff members who came in before the storm to help move the collection pieces and store merchandise to secure storage. Jack and Bob put up the storm panels on all three museums and tested the generator, which came on perfectly when the Custom House lost power. Fay was kind to Key West (thank you Robert) and kept us on the “gentle side” of the storm.

This is what the radar looked like when
Tropical Storm Fay crossed Key West.
