The
"Ghosts and Gravestones" tour offers an EXCLUSIVE night-time entry into one of the island’s haunted Civil War forts - Fort East Martello Museum - once quarantine barracks for suffering soldiers left to die from yellow fever; now home to an eerie doll that can play tricks on you if you don’t play nicely. The Ghost Hosts add a pinch of humor to Key West's dark side with tales of deathly love, tragic endings, scores to settle, wrongs to right and ghastly folk – some so strange it will be hard to believe they’re true. To see some photos from the tour look below.
As part of the tour, a visit to the Fort East Martello Museum, haunted in its own right, is even more exciting as it is the home of Robert the Doll. Robert was a gift to young Gene Otto from a family maid skilled in the black magic of Voodoo. It was clear from the start there was something odd about Robert. Strange things would happen when Robert was around - Items missing and always: “Robert did it”. Also on the tour ... a skeleton in shackles, gravestones of early settlers and Dr. Von Kossel’s beloved Elena… Many have heard the tales of the lost love of Karl Von Kossel and Elena Mesa; but do you know the whole story?
